Entry Requirements for University of the Western Cape Undergraduate Courses:

In order to be eligible for admission to study undergraduate courses, applicants need to meet minimum entry requirements for admission into UWC. See the general admission entry requirements below.

a. The National Senior Certificate for bachelor’s degree study with a score of no fewer than 33 points calculated according to the University’s approved points system, as well as the following minimum specific subject requirements area:

    • Level 4 (50-59%) in English (Home or First Additional Language), and
    • Level 3 (40-49%) in Another Language (Home or First Additional Language), and
    • Level 3 (40-49%) in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy

b. A qualification or level of competence which the Senate of the University has deemed to be equivalent to the requirements stipulated in (a) above.

c. In addition to the above, applicants are required to meet the minimum specific subject requirements for the learning area specialisation combination.

Fees for Studying University of the Western Cape Undergraduate Courses:

The UWC tuition fees for undergraduate courses at are determined annually and may vary depending on factors such as the program of study and the student’s residency status (South African or international).

How to Apply to Study UWC Undergraduate Courses:

Check the application opening date and the deadline: UWC Application is often opens in April. Also, the closing date for undergraduate study application at UWC is on 30 September.

Payment of Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of R100 is required when submitting the online application.
